SplashSeries-SydneyHarbourSplash-200126-PaulMcMillan-088.jpg

Back for its 8th year, the iconic swims start at Rose Bay and follow the coastline giving participants stunning views to the Harbour Bridge.

The harbour provides predictable conditions for the open water first-timers and gives the competitive ones a chance to have a good crack at their PBs.

FINISHERs TOWEL

Each year we try and wow our swimmers with a special finishers towel as it’s all part of the awesome Sydney Harbour Splash experience. This year our towels tell the story of Whale Dreaming as told by Brendan himself.

Long ago, the Cadigal people lived in harmony with nature, guided by their ancestors' wisdom. They were blessed when a magnificent whale named Gawura appeared, communicating with them in dreams and sharing profound truths. Gawura represented the spiritual balance of the natural world.

Inspired by Gawura's teachings, the Cadigal people respected the ocean, taking only what they needed and giving back. They regarded the whale migration as a sacred dance of their ancestors' spirits, celebrating its magnificence and feeling the energy of the Dreaming.

Today, they continue to honor their connection to the whale, the Dreaming, and their heritage, safeguarding the land, sea, and its marvelous creatures, passing down Gawura's wisdom through generations. The Cadigal people believe in preserving the delicate balance between humanity and nature, recognising their responsibility to protect and preserve the environment. Their deep connection to the ocean and its creatures is a testament to their ancestral heritage and the wisdom bestowed upon them by Gawura.

Thank you Brendan.
